The Council is working on an appraisal of the Town Centre Conservation Area. This will assess what is special about the area’s character and history and develop guidance on how it should be preserved and enhanced. This work is set in the context of the development and change going on in the town centre and will look at how that change has affected the Conservation Area since its designation in 1991.
The Town Centre Conservation Area takes in Chertsey Road, the Broadway, High Street and Church Path. This area is the original heart of Woking Town Centre, dating back to the 1850s.
